New York Giants at New England Patriots Prediction and Best Bet: TreVeyon Hendson is the Player to Watch

TreyVeon Henderson running the ball for the New England Patriots during an NFL game, carrying through traffic with defenders closing in

While all of the talk in football is about Lane Kiffin leaving Ole Miss to go to LSU, we are treated to a great Monday Night Football game.

It’s a primetime stage in Foxborough as the Patriots look to keep momentum rolling against a Giants team that’s still searching for answers. New England is back home after stabilizing their season behind a defense playing with absolute confidence and an offense finding ways to support Drake Maye without asking him to do too much. The Giants, meanwhile, limp in at 2-10, riding a six-game losing streak and still working through the aftermath of significant staff changes. They’ve struggled to generate any real rhythm offensively, and the numbers reflect it.

There’s also plenty of spotlight around how New England handles a reshuffled offensive line tonight. Rookie standout Will Campbell is sidelined, Jared Wilson is out, and Vederian Lowe steps in on the blindside after allowing two pressures on just 16 pass-blocking snaps last week. In a matchup against a Giants front that plays with aggression up the field, quick decisions and fast-developing concepts feel like the recipe.

That’s where the Patriots have leaned, and it’s where their identity seems to be heading: play fast, simplify, distribute, and put the ball in the hands of their most dynamic playmaker out of the backfield.

Best Bet: TreVeyon Henderson OVER 2.5 Receptions (+100)

New England has made it clear who they trust in their backfield. Even with Rhamondre Stevenson healthy again, TreVeyon Henderson continues to control the usage — logging more than 60 percent of the snaps to Stevenson’s 40. That’s not by accident, and it’s not a one-week anomaly. They want the ball in his hands, and the easiest way to make that happen tonight is through the air.

Over his last four games, Henderson has seen 16 targets, with four or more in three of those four, and he’s gone over 2.5 receptions in three of the four outings. With the pass rush expected to arrive quickly and an offensive line held together with temporary pieces, check-downs and screens should be a massive part of the game plan. Those throws neutralize pressure, steal easy yards, and allow Maye to stay upright and comfortable.

And against a Giants defense that has been beaten repeatedly by running backs in the passing game, this sets up as a strong matchup advantage for New England.
